In March of 2013, Columbia River Kayaking moved from their old location in Skamokawa behind the Skamokawa Resort to the Viewpoint Landing building.With nearly 60 years of combined experience, you can find beginner-friendly tours every weekend through mid October, and instruction and tours at all levels.

Kayak rentals are not available in our county but you can rent them the following areas: Next Adventure in Scappoose Bay, Ridgefield Kayak Rentals and Peach Beach Rentals in Vancouver, WA. 

Lower Columbia River Water Trail

146 mile water trail on the Lower Columbia River from Bonneville Dam to the Pacific Ocean. More on The Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership. Be sure to check on the tide tables for your safety!

Many of our residents and guests come to our County for all the wonderful boating opportunities.  We have a full service marina, many small islands and sloughs to explore, along with many types of fishing.  Boaters travel from the Pacific Ocean all the way to the Idaho border. Boating in Wahkiakum County consists of canoes, kayaks, small water craft, fishing boats, sailboats and yachts. Boat launches are located at the Elochoman Marina, Puget Island, Skamokawa Slough near Vista Park.
